3rd Molesey Scout group grotto a great hit

The 3rd Molesey Scout group Santa's Grotto ran on Saturday and Sunday and this year the theme was the Wizard of Oz, hundreds visited the grotto and then followed the yellow brick road through to the emerald city.

Volunteers had spent months building all the props to create the enthralling displays, visitors also enjoyed refreshments, a tombola and raffle with the 1st prize been a flat screen TV donated by Molesey Refrigeration, overall over £500 was raised from these activities. This money will go to activities for children in the scout group to celebrate the groups 75th anniversary which takes place next year.

Magical Molesey

Gallery posted of winter of magical Molesey 2010 and various local snowy scenes by the river Thames. I took festive photographs in Tredinick and Bower, I bought a snow machine which was skillfully run by Marc. All in all we raised £21 for 3rd Molesey Scout group.Despite the freezing weather and icy roads loads of Molesey residents turned out to help Mr Mole turn on the Christmas lights in East Molesey. The snow did not put people off this the 4th annual event was the best yet.

Molesey residents association, the WI, shooting stars as well as other local charities , businesses and organisations were involved and put on activities for families to enjoy. After the grand switch on carols were sung around the tree and there were plenty of mince pies and refreshment to keep people warm.

3rd Molesey Scout group members dressed up (one as a Snowman!!) to promote their Santa’s Grotto and Magical Wonderland which takes place next weekend

It was my great pleasure when asked by the RCSherriff Trust to take photographs of the swithing on parade and the beautiful laterns that the children at local schools had spent considerable time making and then created such a wonderful display. The photographs have all been posted on my gallery section if you would like to see more at http://www.phototed.co.uk/page3.html.

Photographs in the local papers

You may have been held up the other morning if you had travelled through Molesey as two cars were involved in an accident on the Molesey Road and it was shut for most of the morning. Luckily there were no fatalities but one of the drivers had to be cut out of their car. I heard the air ambulance go over and went to take some photographs of it. I caught it taking off and sent the photographs to the local papers which used them when the wrote up the incident. The air ambulance landed on the road which is surrounded by trees showing exceptional skill by the pilot.

I know it doesn't feel that spring like at the moment but the crocus and snowdrops are both out in the garden and I have launched my Seasonal Spring Special. I think digital photoframes are a great way to display photographs so for any bookings I take for March May and June at the sitting cost of only £59. I am giving a complementary digital photoframe loaded with images from the Shoot this can be in excess of 100 photos so is an offer I hope people will take up and enjoy.
