Molesey Carnival Pictures

The Molesey Carnival Committee kindly asked me if I would take some photographs of the Molesey Carnival this year and I was delighted to oblige. I have posted the images (some 250+) on a gallery just visit http://www.phototed.co.uk/ and you will see the link on the front page (if it is not there it will have been moved to the gallery section)
I had shoots in the studio in the morning then cycled over to the start at Ember Court industrial estate to capture the send off and not knowing what the weather would do I thought I could get pictures of all the fantastic floats and parades before the rain came. Luckily it did not come so I cycled over to Molesey library where big crowds had gathered and took more photographs, and a few more at the recreation ground before helping out in the 3rd Molesey Scout Group tea tent.

Puffins on Skomer

This May half term I finally got to visit Skomer. I visited with the family we camped in Marloes which was only a few miles from where the boat goes. We went Sunday to Wednesday working around studio bookings.

We had a mixture of sun fog rain and cloud and very very windy, but the photographic opportunities on the Island of Skomer were great I have posted a selection of photographs taken on the Island of Skomer on my website. http://www.phototed.co.uk/page52a.html
It was great fun and I can highly recommend it to anyone. for more information on Skomer visit http://www.welshwildlife.org/skomerIntro_en.link

New Testimonial Web Page

I have been asking customers to write in my new studio book about their experience of Ted Palmer's Photographic Studio. As they have been writing in the book over the last week or so I have placed the comments on a new Testimonials section of my website, why not take a look and see what you think. http://www.phototed.co.uk/.

£1000 Studio Investment

With the increasing popularity of photographic shoots at the studio, the studio has now undergone a £1000 upgrade. This now means that the lights are now on a ceiling rail system which means they can be moved around and operated without wires or stands across the studio floor. This means there is more free space for children to relax, play and enjoy themselves thus creating a better environment to produce lovely candid shots. Despite this considerable investment sitting prices have remained the same and as always photography with Ted Palmer gives you exceptional quality that represents outstanding value. For full pricing details visit www.phototed.co.uk.

Studio News

I have invested in a new bit of kit which allows me to pressure laminate images with different UV and abrasive protective coatings. This means that I can now provide a range of printing products without the need for glass, orders for block prints have already been made and I think this modern style of displaying portraits will be very popular.

Snow

The snow fell very heavily the night before last and it appears that some birds seem to be hiding from the cold climate whilst others seem to be more visible. The parakeets in particular are more active on the bird feeders. There are large numbers of these in our area they used to roost in poplar trees at Esher Rugby ground until the trees became unsafe this was addressed and the roosting site was no more. I have been taking photographs of the sun rise on Molesey Heath this morning and noticed large numbers of parakeets leaving their roosts here (under one mile from the rugby ground that used to be home) so they still seem to be roosting in large numbers but the roost site seems to change.
The photographic studio has been quiet this week with the inclamdesant weather, but this gives me the opportunity to catch up on orders and send some of my "snow" photographs to the local papers.
